You Can’t go Wrong with a Terraced Roof

A terrace roof could easily be everyone’s favourite spot. This is a thousand times better than having a huge window on a metropolitan sky rise building, and a hundred times better than a balcony. It offers a panoramic view of the scenery plus, an unlimited supply of fresh air. Wherever you are, a terrace roof could be for you.

But then again as inviting as it may sound, terrace roofs work best on buildings that have a great view from the top and then the owners of the building have to consider paying a hefty price for it.

With so many possibilities and benefits, it makes sense to make the effort. There is a varied array of design options, from a garden oasis, to a zen type sitting area. With the improvement of technology these days, the sky is the limit when it comes to creativity here. Designers have made possible the installation of swimming pools, exotic gardens and walls of different types and sizes.

It’s one of the best places to go to unwind. For Nic, one of the lucky roof terrace owners, his roof terrace has got to be his favourite spot saying ‘Sitting up here on a lazy afternoon gives me so much pleasure. We are right in the heart of the city, but it’s so calm up here.’ But of course, like many owners, he had to go through the correct procedures just to get permission from the local council.

That’s right, procedures. Before going crazy on the creativity, the designers are faced with a challenge on any restrictions there may be as there are limitations on how much load the building can actually hold and also they have to consider the potential waterproofing problems that could arise. There can be compromises along the way, which can leave designers plenty of options.

Installing a terrace roof can be a tough struggle, but in the end, when you see your vision unfold before your eyes and you know that it has been installed correctly and safely, you can rest assured your new terrace roof will serve you for a long time.
